Fransen’s Most Sustainable Christmas Card

In winter of 2009, Fransen Engineering decided to go to a more sustainable and environmental Christmas card. Instead of mailing out paper cards and envelops to our staff, partners, and customers, we produced a video card. It was so well-received, that for Christmas 2010, we decided to continue this tradition and once again make a video card!

In the past, we have spent around $5,000 on cards and postage, not to mention all of the time, effort and environmental resources needed to get the cards signed and delivered via traditional postal services. We took this money, and our Clients who viewed our E-card were given an opportunity to help us choose which charities we should donate to on their behalf. A total of $5,000 was split between three of our favorite charities: Engineers Without Borders, Canadian Diabetes and United Way Canada.

We feel that this new approach is a good demonstration of our “Think Long Term” philosophy.
