17 people joined the Fransen Engineering team, and geared up for the 27th annual Vancouver Sun Run this year. Braving the crowds, runners and walkers of all fitness levels went out to enjoy the energy of the massive event.
For some, it was their very first time participating in the Sun Run. Some, like Fransen’s Mike Elsinga, have been running it for years. Coming in with a time of 37:20, he placed a very respectable 137th overall (out of almost 50,000 participants). In the end, our team placed well in the Engineering category, with an impressive average run time of 48.25.
A handful of employees showed their support for Fair Trade by completing the entire 10km run dressed as a gorilla and bananas. It was a fun and creative way of bringing awareness to a great cause! Way to go, team!
