Our History

Fransen Engineering opened its doors in the spring of 1980 and in the years that followed, we have been provided with many opportunities that have encouraged our growth and cemented the position we have achieved in the consulting engineering business.

A brief outline of our steps to where we are today follows:

1980 – Fransen Engineering Ltd. was established as an electrical engineering company.

1987 – Instrumentation and process controls department formed.

1992 – Mechanical engineering department formed.

1994 – Structural engineering department formed.

1998 – Alberta office established in Edmonton.

2004 – Alberta office relocates to Calgary. Oil & Gas Process engineering department is formed.

2005 – After 25 years in business, Fransen’s position as a multi-discipline firm with a unique approach
              to client relationships is affirmed.

2006 – Fransen reaches 100 employees

2007 – Prince George office is established to meet the needs of our Northern BC clients.

2008 – Fransen reaches 160 employees and receives recognition by Business in Vancouver as one of
              the top 20 engineering firms in BC (tied for 11th).  Parksville office is established to meet the
              needs of our Vancouver Island clients

2009 – Acquisition of EPI consultants is completed, adding further depth with respect to process
              and environmental studies. 

We are further bolstered by the wealth of experience that our company has attained over the years and the industry and peer recognition received. The success of our company is a direct result of our people and the relationships they have built with our clients.
