Marcel H. Matte, P.Eng., MBA Manager, Process Engineering
Education: · Bachelor of Applied Science, Chemical Engineering, University of British Columbia, 1987 · Master of Business Administration, University of Calgary, 2003
Specialization: With 21 years of engineering consulting experience, Marcel enjoys managing a team of dedicated process engineers on a range of oil and gas projects. His technical experience reaches across a broad spectrum, from a compact oil sands vacuum tower control valve sizing assignment to the development of new unit process simulations for western Canadian refineries to designing a cryogenic flare system on a major international natural gas plant expansion. His depth of hydrocarbon process engineering knowledge and range of project leadership experiences has created a solid foundation from which Marcel manages his department. Whether the project ranges from developing a hydro-treater reactor catalyst specification or assessing a diluted bitumen NPSH problem, Marcel strongly emphasizes accurate up front problem definition and scope development. As well, as a strong believer in maintaining focus on customer service in all engineering consulting activities, Marcel stresses that properly crunching numbers is only half the job. The other half of the job is clearly and effectively communicating the results. Marcel is a registered professional engineer in the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia and has been a member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers since 1992.
