Mr. Penrose has over 10 years experience as a control system technologist with specialization in industrial automation. Industry experience includes bulk material handling, food & beverage, oil sands, refinery, and pulp & paper industries.  He has also developed the following applications: continuous emissions monitoring systems for co-generation power plants, and a Barn Management Automation System.

His instrumentation and control experience includes project management, capital cost estimates, proposals, specifications, detailed design, commissioning, site inspections and technical training in the Pulp & Paper, Oil & Gas, and Bulk Material Handling industries.

Gordon manages Fransen's Automation group, which integrates PLC, HMI and computer control systems using multi-vendor platforms.

He is registered as a member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia, and a member of the International Society of Automation.
